Bethesda Hospital :: Reinventing Lives

A Message from Dr. Capistrant

"We are in existence to dispense not only science, but kindness, empathy and optimism."

- Terrance D. Capistrant, MD

Thank you for your interest in the Terrance D. Capistrant M.D. Parkinson's Center at Bethesda Hospital. I encouraged HealthEast to initiate the Center, which opened in April 2005, as a means to provide the best possible treatment for Parkinson's disease.

As a neurologist who also has Parkinson's disease, I am in a unique position to appreciate the needs of patient as well as to identify the latest scientific developments most helpful in managing the disease.

We adhere to a "Parkinson's Patient Bill of Rights" that is based on principles of National and World Parkinson's Disease organizations.

We believe that  that people with Parkinson’s disease have the right to:

  • Be referred to a doctor with a comprehensive knowledge of the disease
  • Receive an accurate diagnosis
  • Have access to support services and affordable medications
  • Take part in managing their illness
  • Receive continuous care

At the Capistrant Center, we have a full range of services, from on-site neurologists, therapies, exercise group, support group and educational classes.

I invite you to register to attend the introduction to Parkinson's class that I teach entitled Living Well With Parkinson's. There is no cost for the class or the Parkinson's support group. All are welcome.

For more information about any of our services please call
