DirectionsFamily Orientation GroupFamilies are invited to attend an orientation to Bethesda Hospital held weekly on Tuesday from 4 to 5 pm in the Como Conference Room on 1 North Hallway Family Recreation CenterLocated on the second floor of the hospital near the North Elevators is the Family Recreation Center. The center has a pool table, large screen TV, computer, recliner and a small kitchenette. The Family Recreation Center may be reserved for special family occasions. Contact the Welcome Center at 651-232-2228. Family Support GroupFamilies are invited to attend a weekly support group that meets every Tuesday From 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the 7th Floor Conference room. Gift shopThe gift shop is located in the main lobby on the first floor. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 7 pm, and various weekend hours. The gift shop offers a wide selection of merchandise including greeting cards, gifts, fresh flowers, reading materials, snacks and basic toiletries. Healing Art ProgramBethesda Hospital has a Healing Art Program that includes our Therapeutic Garden, Gallery Café and Artie the Art Cart. Patients can select a piece of art to be hung in their rooms through the Art Cart program. Proceeds from the sale of local artist work displayed in our Gallery Café goes back to Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital for special projects within Bethesda. For more information call 651-232-2077. To speak with a counselor, call 651-232-2017 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. History and Resource CenterThe History and Resource Center is located on the first floor lobby. There are photographs, artifacts and displays that show Bethesda serving the St. Paul community for more than 120 years. In addition, there are computers and videos for family and visitors to use. Hotel / lodging informationHealthEast Festival House, located in St. Paul, is an affordable and temporary residence for families of our patients. Each unit includes a private bath, television and a kitchenette. All units are non-smoking and can accommodate up to three adults. The rate is $35 a night for up to three people. Internet / wireless accessBethesda offers wireless Internet access so patients, family members or other guests can bring their laptop computers and use the Internet onsite. Stop at any information desk or nursing station to obtain a card with the password to access the Internet. Please note that Bethesda cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the wireless network. Also, web sites considered inappropriate will be blocked. Postage stamps may be purchased in the gift shop. Mail can be dropped at the mailbox located on C-level past the cafeteria, or at the front desk. Parking and securityParking is available in the Park Street Parking Ramp on 530 Park Street. The ramp is accessible by skyway to the hospital’s first floor and has several handicap spots located near the hospital entrance. Some one-time use complimentary parking passes are provided to each patient’s family. For additional parking discounts, please present your parking ticket to any nursing station. A 30-day parking pass may also be purchased from the Parking Attendant in the Park Street Parking Ramp booth. This pass allows for unlimited visits within a 30-day period. For additional information call 651-232-2051. The Parking Ramp is routinely patrolled by hospital Security, however we are not responsible for vehicle damage or theft that may occur in the ramp. An escort service to your car is available from security 24 hours/day by dialing “0” for the operator and asking for Security. Patient advocateIf you have questions or concerns, please speak to the clinical director of your program. If the clinical director has not satisfied your concerns please contact the Patient Advocate at 651-232-2013. Pet visitationAt Bethesda, we understand the bond between owner and pet. We have created guidelines that will allow you to safely have visits with your pet while you are a patient at Bethesda. Please check at the nurses' station for a copy of the guidelines before you bring the pet to the hospital. Chaplains provide spiritual support by listening, praying, offering Sacraments, facilitating communication and helping resolve ethical concerns. Bethesda’s Chapel and the Meditation Room are located on the first floor. Both the Chapel and Meditation Room are open 24 hours and available for prayer and meditation. The hospital’s doors are locked after 9 pm. Entry is only through the skyway. It is recommended that you call the behavioral units before coming to visit.
